GREENE KING
Heritage brewer Greene King has been crafting award-winning cask ales in the historic Suffolk market town of Bury St Edmunds for more than 200 years. Now recognised as the name behind some of the country’s best loved brews, including Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale, Old Speckled Hen and Old Golden Hen, the company started life when founder Benjamin Greene brewed his first batch of beer in 1799.
Times may have moved on since then, but Greene King remains 100% committed to its Suffolk roots and the traditions of brewing excellence that have made it one of the nation’s best-known crafters of quality cask ale. That’s why it still brews all its beers using water drawn from the artesian chalk well sunk deep below its brew house, as well as only the freshest local ingredients. It’s also why it completes many quality checks on each batch before it leaves the brewery gates. Above all, though, it’s why Greene King continues to employ only the most dedicated, passionate and skilled teams to make sure every pint reaches its customers in perfect drinking condition.
