Simon-Stothard-profileGot to keep on moving.

Simon has the life threatening condition Cystic Fibrosis, but he hasn’t let this hold him back. An active guy, Simon has run 5 marathons, climbed Ben Nevis (twice), cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End (also twice), cycled from Dunstable to Porz Am Rhein in Germany and undertaken numerous half marathons. Simon has been given numerous awards and was a torchbearer in Luton for the 2012 London Olympics.

Having Cystic Fibrosis means that training has to fit in around Simon’s treatment and around his condition. Nonetheless he will be participating in a number of events in 2013 and 2014 as part of a wide fundraising initiative. This exciting challenge will see Simon competing in his first triathalon, half marathons, cycling 200 miles in one day, and running the Dublin Marathon. The events will culminate in cycling from Luton to its twin town Bergisch Gladbach and back again in 2014.

Simon will show us that whatever problems you face, however insurmountable they seem, you can, with the right support and understanding, find the strength to overcome them. Simon will show us what he has achieved despite a life threatening condition and how we can all make a positive mark on society through our actions and can succeed against all the odds.
