Dr Wesley Randle, Mutation Driven Innovation
Dr Wesley Randle is a co-founder and CEO of Tacit Fusion, has an Applied Biology degree from the University of Bath, a PhD in Medicine and Tissue Engineering from Imperial College, London and an MBA from Cranfield University. He has worked in an Oxford University dotcom spin-out, in biotech and healthcare – specifically in toxicology and in vitro models at GSK Plc – in a regenerative medicine spin-out from Imperial College, as the Innovation Director at the University of Bedfordshire and more recently as the Enterprise Director at Colworth Science Park, Bedford, UK (Unilever/Goodman JV). Wesley specialises in strategy, intangibles, commercial development, raising finance and working with senior management teams. Wesley is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and an advisory board member for Cranfield University Business Incubation Centre and Leading Edge Only.
As a scientist by training Wesley has long been fascinated by the principles of secundum naturum (according to nature) or biomimetics. These concepts bleed into open innovation, economics and product development. Designs are codified models or representations of an idea or insight. Dr Wesley will join us at TEDxBedford to talk about design cycles and the parallels between evolution, mutations and iterative, rapid design.
